Crow’s feet and eye-area lines

Crow’s feet are movement lines at the outer eye. A careful assessment considers how you smile, brow and eyelid position, cheek movement, existing asymmetry and the amount of expression you would like to keep.

Understanding the concern

The eye area needs a conservative, whole-face assessment.

Crow’s feet are mainly created by repeated contraction of the orbicularis oculi when you smile or squint. Skin quality, facial structure and sun exposure also influence how visible the lines become.

If prescription treatment is suitable, placement and dose are selected around your individual smile pattern. The assessment also considers dry-eye symptoms, lower-eyelid support, brow position and previous treatment.

Temporary redness, swelling or bruising can occur. Less common but important risks, including asymmetry, unwanted weakness and effects around the eyelid or smile, are explained before consent. Results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

A doctor consultation may recommend another assessment, an alternative approach or no treatment.
What to expect

From your concern to an informed decision

Treatment is subject to consultation and an individual plan.

01 · Choose an area Tell us what you want to discuss

Choose the concern or area, review the factual price information and book a doctor consultation. Selecting an area does not confirm a procedure.

02 · Consultation Assess suitability and alternatives

The doctor reviews your history, the relevant anatomy and your goals. Discuss risks, expected limits, alternatives and total cost before deciding.

03 · Agreed plan Know the preparation and aftercare

If treatment is appropriate, you receive information for the specific procedure and review arrangements. Another approach or no treatment may be recommended.

The details behind your treatment choice

Explore the concern, the assessment and the questions to discuss before deciding.

Smile lines

Crow’s feet are assessed both at rest and while you smile naturally. The clinician looks at the direction and strength of orbicularis oculi movement, cheek elevation, brow position and any difference between the two sides. This produces a plan based on your own smile pattern rather than a standard set of injection points.

Lines at rest

Lines that remain without smiling can reflect repeated movement alongside collagen loss, sun exposure and skin quality. Reducing muscle activity may soften a movement component, but it does not directly resurface the skin. Your clinician will explain whether skincare, resurfacing, another treatment or no treatment is the more appropriate route.

Eye-area balance

The outer eye is closely connected to brow position, lower-eyelid support and upper-cheek movement. Assessment includes baseline asymmetry, dry-eye symptoms, previous treatment and how the eyelid behaves when you smile. Placement is proposed conservatively because unwanted weakness can affect expression or support around the eye.

Expression preserved

The aim is not automatically to remove every visible line. Your consultation explores how much smile movement you want to keep and what degree of softening is realistic for your anatomy. Response varies between patients, so no exact appearance or degree of movement can be guaranteed.

Area selection, prices and your next step

Use the areas and prices panel to find the concern you want assessed. Prices are subject to consultation, and the selected area is carried into a doctor consultation request.

The final treatment plan, risks and total charge are discussed before treatment. A £50 doctor consultation reservation fee applies; current terms are shown before booking.

Questions before booking

Frequently asked questions.

Practical answers before you choose a consultation.

What are crow’s feet?
They are lines at the outer corners of the eyes, most visible when smiling or squinting. Ageing, sun exposure, skin quality and individual facial movement all contribute.
Will treatment change my smile?
The aim and amount of movement to preserve are discussed first. Any treatment around the eye must be planned conservatively because smile, cheek and eyelid movement are connected.
Can lines at rest disappear completely?
Not necessarily. Anti-wrinkle treatment affects muscle movement; etched lines and skin texture may need a different or combined approach, or may remain visible.
When should I judge the result?
Effects develop gradually. Your clinician will explain expected timing and whether a review is appropriate before any further decision.
Who may not be suitable?
Suitability depends on medical history, medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, infection, neuromuscular conditions, eye symptoms and other individual factors.
What aftercare is needed?
You receive individual instructions and warning signs. Temporary injection-site redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur.
What is the doctor consultation reservation fee?
A £50 reservation fee applies to the doctor consultation. Current payment, cancellation and rescheduling terms are shown in the booking app before you confirm.
Do I need to choose a procedure before consultation?
No. Select the area or concern you want to discuss. The doctor assesses suitability and explains options, risks and alternatives before you decide; the consultation may end with no procedure.
Where can I see the prices for my area?
Open the areas and prices panel from this page. Doctor prices are shown first and all treatment prices are subject to consultation. The final plan and charge must be confirmed before treatment.
What should I tell the doctor before treatment?
Explain your goals, relevant medical history, medicines and previous procedures. The clinician checks treatment-specific suitability and discusses realistic limits, material risks and alternatives.
What aftercare and review will I receive?
If a procedure is agreed, the clinic supplies preparation, aftercare, warning signs, contact guidance and review arrangements for that specific plan. Timing and response vary between patients.
